    A Passion For The Cause

Autism Resource Mom is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2015. Click here for a summary profile of our organization. We provide support, guidance and hope for families of children with autism spectrum disorder through a variety of initiatives: Our practical seminars help parents maximize their benefits. Our social events help individuals on the spectrum build self-esteem and connect with others. And our independent living skills workshops help prepare teens and young adults for life on their own.

When my son was born in 1996, he was among the 1 in 250 children born with this neurodevelopmental disorder. Today, 1 in 68 newborns will face the challenges of a life on the autism spectrum: the social awkwardness, the isolation, the anxieties, the fine and gross motor imbalances, the processing disorders that can make even the slightest sight, sound, taste or touch an overwhelming sensory experience. More than ever, those on the autism spectrum require support, guidance and hope in order to live productive, fulfilling and independent lives. Increasingly, their loved ones and caregivers need the same.

Traditionally, this support has been provided from a medical/psychological perspective. While we value many of these “white lab coat” approaches, Autism Resource Mom hails from a different place—the trenches. Our programs and services designed to benefit parents, caregivers and individuals on the spectrum, are built on a solid foundation of personal experience, by a staff that has raised and lived with an individual with autism.

    Targeting Specific, Crucial, Ongoing Needs

Our mission is to let families know that they’re not alone. That there are pathways to success. That individuals on the spectrum can be empowered to live independently. So that those with autism can be embraced for their gifts rather than ostracized for their deficits.

If Autism Resource Mom can help just one kid or family member each day, then we’ll have made the difference we strive to achieve. So that that 1-in-68 kid can be second to none.

Your contributions will help keep our programs accessible to the growing autism community. Thank you.
