Kid at school

I have either brought the wrong child home from school or this Defense Mode stuff really works!!

Did I Bring The Wrong Kid Home From School?

We have been working on getting my son, age 8 out of Defense Mode since November. I think the little steps may have been big strides today. I picked him up from school and his sister was at an after school club, so asked him what he would like to do with me. He said he wanted to play lego star wars on the xbox. I suck at it. It's not my thing, but he LOVED our time.

The whole walk to school to get his sister he talked non stop about star wars, nothing new there until he stopped and said "I'm talking a lot, is that ok?"

He's never been aware of how much he talks about obsessions before. He had the start of a meltdown on the way home as his sister dared talk while he was still obsessing, and he went to hit her and started get angry but a few words of advice from me and he stopped.

He did some school work without being asked then got very angry about something going wrong on the iPad. I suggested he stop using it rather than get angrier, and normally he would have refused and got angrier, but this time he drew a picture and wrote some words he asked me to read.

They said "I am stressed by the iPad so I am drawing and writing to stop me being angry." As I am putting his sister to bed he brings me up a drink, puts a pillow behind my head, tucks my covers in and tidies up my room!

I have either brought the wrong child home from school or this Defense Mode stuff really works!! Oh and today he's just moved up a reading level for the 2nd time in less than 2 weeks. Last term he was deep in defense mode and he didn't move up a level in 3 months!

I know for sure applying myself full on into Defense Mode and actually doing the exact steps has CHANGED my two children in just weeks!

The Money I Could Have Saved...

What could you do with the money if you could halve the amount of therapy and costs?

I'm not saying that will happen at all but I know for sure applying myself full on into Defense Mode and actually doing the exact steps has CHANGED my two children in just weeks!

I was like you, thinking "Oh well this is all I can do". But not now, now I KNOW there is way more I can do and be doing to help my kids. It's fantastic!

Child thinking

I don't know first hand what goes on in his mind. With Asperger Experts they can give us that, and the prices they charge are a small price to pay for what they're giving our children.

An Opportunity To Understand My Kid Better

These guys are amazing. It's nice to get a real view into whats going on in an aspie mind. I've taken almost two years of parenting classes of different approaches, I have sat through thousands of therapy sessions and learned from the therapists at OT, PT, AND speech therapy, but none of them know exactly how or what makes an autistic child tick. My son is high functioning, very smart, and an all around amazing boy, but I don't know first hand what goes on in his mind. With Asperger Experts they can give us that, and the prices they charge are a small price to pay for what they're giving our children.

They're giving us an opportunity to understand them better and possibly help our children now, so that later on in their lives they can meet their full potential. To me, I'm willing to take the chance. I've never come across any advice or programs like this. Worst case scenario: it doesn't work. Best case scenario: it changes my child's life. And anything in between, well it's still progress, and I'll take that any day of the week! Great job guys! Keep up the good work! You all have already helped me and my son.

Baker making bread

I no longer have to be worried about him working, much less finding an exact match for what will make him happy every day, AND lead him to his dream of owning his own bakery.

I No Longer Have To Be Worried

Good Tidings, Everyone!

Today my 23 yr old HFA son was hired into the field that he wants to remain in for life. A Baker! Better than that, he emailed for the application Tuesday night, received it yesterday, completed it today (I only asked if he received it and he took off like a jet), took it to the employer who interviewed him on the spot (on the spot!!) and hired him!

He starts next week with the hours that he wanted that work best for his biological and emotional schedule! I can't thank Danny Raede enough!! In the last phone Q&A before last night, Danny spoke to my son and he connected, once again, with a very short conversation. Danny woke up my son! Again! I can not express just how happy I am!

Happy? I'm ecstatic. I know he will do well. I no longer have to be worried about him working, much less finding an exact match for what will make him happy every day, AND lead him to his dream of owning his own bakery. And he's a good man. A very good man.

Every agonizing step for the last 23 years has been more than worth it. By the grace of God I knew what to do without many resources at all 15-20 years ago.

Wave crashing

It's like a tidal wave of incredible information that I have been searching for during the last 7 years.

I've Been Given So Much Hope

It has taken me a month and a half to get through and process the first week of Defense Mode, but I made it!! Lol!

It's like a tidal wave of incredible information that I have been searching for during the last 7 years. Thank you to the entire team of Asperger Experts! It has been life changing and has given me so much hope.

Two teens talking

You use the very same words my son uses. He tells me he spends all his time protecting himself, and you explain WHY.

We Didn't Understand Our Son Until Now

My husband and I just watched your first video, and we are so thankful we found you! Our son was diagnosed with Aspergers last year at age 31. We read a lot but nothing was really very helpful, and we really didn't understand our son. Until now.

You use the very same words my son uses. He tells me he spends all his time protecting himself, and you explain WHY. He hasn't watched it yet, but he says he will. Until then, my husband and I FINALLY have some real insight into how he experiences life and what he needs. Years of therapy, as you also found out, did nothing.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing this.

Kid in school

These guys are legit. I spent many many years paying for the "experts". On watching their free videos, my son said this was the best he ever heard it described if how he processes.

It Describes How He Processes

Ordered their program for my son & he loves it. Wish I had their program 23 years ago! And yes they should charge. It is their concept & their product. It would be great if it was free but who am I to behoove these guys making a living? Also they could have charged more. Much more and I would still consider it a bargain knowing what I know now.

Two young women

I will never forget after she watched their video what she said - "Finally someone gets me and can explain to me!"

The "Aha" Moment For My Daughter

Finding Aspergers Experts was the "Aha" moment for my daughter. I will never forget after she watched their video what she said - "Finally someone gets me and can explain to me!"

It opened the door to conversations and her acceptance of that part of her. She has educated me as to how she thinks, feels and perceives more than anyone else. She hated the thought (mainly perceived by her and I from school) that there was something wrong with her and it was a disability.

AE changed all that for her and I. Can't change what was but thankful for what can be!

Smiling teens

I had the privilege of attending an Aspergers Experts webinar on motivating and it was incredibly enlightening.

Getting Them Off Games And Back Into Life

I had the privilege of attending an Aspergers Experts webinar on motivating and it was incredibly enlightening. You know when you feel at the end of your rope because you simply don't know what else to do to get the your child off the games and back in to the life of homework and chores?

I applied the technique (or my version of it) that they guys had demonstrated and I am extremely proud to report that Jack had an awesome week with both homework and school work. He did extra math, or "FRED" as his teacher calls it. Lol.

And they called me to tell me that he aced his science test, taken in class and was finished ahead of time. I know everyday won't necessarily be like this but I plan to celebrate his hard work and show he should be very proud of himself!

Boy at desk

Paula I don't know why or how but this boy of yours has completely CHANGED. He is wanting to engage with the other students, he is laughing often with the other kids he is soo happy!

"This Boy of Yours Has Completely Changed"

OH MY GOODNESS!!! OH MY GOODNESS!! I'M SO HAPPY!! This morning Aussie time only a couple of hours ago I was called up to the school to discuss next years transition for my son to ready him for high school. I attended the meeting and my sons teacher came into the office, sat down and began to speak this is what he said:

"Paula I don't know why or how but this boy of yours has completely CHANGED. He is wanting to engage with the other students, he is laughing often with the other kids he is soo happy! Never have I seen your son begin a given task and actually COMPLETE IT ALL!!

Everything I've given him in the last 3 weeks he has COMPLETED! Your child has absolutely excelled in every single area and get this Paula he even stood up and ran like the wind in sport and he NEVER EVER has EVER got involved on his own!"

What did I do hearing this? I cried. I cried and the smile across my face is still there! I'm ABSOLUTELY AND FOREVER GRATEFUL TO YOU!!!

This day this moment just blew me away completely! I felt like my beautiful child had just won the gold logie award!! I came out of that office beaming! And I sure did tell them it is because of Asperger Experts! Thank you.

Worried mother

It was like getting inside information about how my son actually sees and processes the world...from within his world.

The First Time I Felt Like The Experts Actually Were

This is the first time where I felt like the "experts" actually were.

It was like getting inside information about how my son actually sees and processes the world...from within his world. And because the only way to help your child out of Defense Mode is to fully understand Defense Mode, I promise you that once you see your child out of Defense Mode, you'll know. And, you'll want more of it.

I put in the time and work, but once my husband was on board everything has been better. We've both listened to the course multiple times.

I'm no longer trying to control/manipulate/over-parent or "fix" my son. We communicate and have an actual relationship with him. He trusts me. I listen to him.

Construction tools

Now, I feel like I have the handy-dandy IKEA instructions to put together the things I know. My child just voluntarily ate his dinner, put his dishes in the sink, and took a shower.

I Feel Like I Have Handy Ikea Instructions

Before I joined, I had some of the pieces I needed, but I didn't know how to put them together. Our son still had a lot of meltdowns and it felt like I was always fighting to MAKE him behave, like if I could just parent harder, I would win. It still felt like a war and I had to pick which hill I was going to die on today.

Now, I feel like I have the handy-dandy IKEA instructions to put together the things I know. My child just voluntarily ate his dinner, put his dishes in the sink, and took a shower. We didn't have homework tonight, but if we did, he would have sat down and done it.

There are still times when he starts to melt down or gets anxious, but I have the words to say that can bring him around. Or, I can allow him to express his anger/fear/worry/etc. without taking it personally, like I'm a bad parent because my kid had a meltdown.

Smiling young woman

Through learning and acceptance, my daughter who was full of anxiety and had left school to be homeschooled, gained confidence and decided to return to school her freshman year!

My Daughter Has Gained So Much Confidence

My family found you guys online! I clicked on and responded to an ad for Asperger Experts and my family and I devoured all of your online videos. I immediately employed what I learned to my 2 teens. Through learning and acceptance, my daughter who was full of anxiety and had left school to be homeschooled, gained confidence and decided to return to school her freshman year!

She took on the challenge when she realized that her life was what she made it. She has dreams and aspirations and she knew if she chose to let fear control her, she'd never see any of them realized.

Since returning to school she's taking drivers ed, went on a class trip over a weekend (by choice), joined spanish club AND drama club, has started a blog, and is finishing writing her 1st novel!

She went from literally beating her head into the bus window out of panic to what i just described.

Family arguing

Things were getting bad and even my grown up kids had begged me to get her help. Then I did the Defense Mode course... and it was like getting a key to a whole new understanding.

We Were Doing Nearly Everything Wrong

We were doing everything wrong... well nearly everything.

I was working on better food and better sleep... so I suppose i had an idea of those foundations, but I didnt have the first clue how to handle the meltdowns, refusals, anger, and anxiety.

Even as a special ed. teacher I was lost. I was doing everything "right" by the parenting books... and none of it was working.

My husband wasn't even managing that- he was just angry and frustrated at her all the time. Things were getting bad and even my grown up kids had begged me to get her help. Then I did the Defense Mode course... and it was like getting a key to a whole new understanding.

Now we get it... and all the things we couldnt explain and couldnt understand became clear and even obvious. It was an instant change, I mean overnight complete change.... and we're not entirely out of DM yet, we still have the occasional meltdown and social skills are still pretty much at zero, but the meltdowns usually happen when I didnt pay attention or didnt do the groundwork

She's beginning to get braver in social situations. We had a major set back right at the beginning when she got lost out trick or treating with friends, that was tough but she is not fighting so hard against social interaction and we have high hopes for the future.

Anxious woman

I feel like I won the lottery when I saw the ad pop up on FB and went to your site in the beginning. I feel like here at AE I have a big family to turn to and no matter what happens... there is always someone who will reach back out to me or I can be there for.

Desperately Trying To Settle My Anxiety

I was trying desperately to find a way to settle my anxiety and try to help my daughter stop hurting.

Today I understand how to communicate with my daughter better and I don't feel alone or without friends when we go through some very very hard times. I am kinder to people without knowing their story and I have learned A LOT!

And we remind each other that our kids are simply different than standard and why it might be hard to 'be' sometimes. We can be the parent they need and help them grow and become wonderful independent adults.

Kid in school hallway

When I read all the stories of similar behaviors, I began to realize that there can't be this many evil geniuses who also happen to have Asperger's.

He Is Not The Evil Genius I Thought He Was

I now see my boy in a different light. He is not the evil genius I thought he was.

I attributed much of his behavior as being manipulative and calculated. It didn't help that his language was often vile and filled with profanity and the meltdowns often became physical. Until I, as a parent, completely bought in to the diagnosis, I did him a big disservice. We joined this group about 3-4 months ago. When I read all the stories of similar behaviors, I began to realize that there can't be this many evil geniuses who also happen to have Asperger's. This group has been a god send for me.

Don't get me wrong; I still struggle greatly with hygiene, the seeming lack of motivation and the disconnect between his actions and his words but I am in a better place since finding this group. And if I am in a better place, my son can't help but be in a much better place too.

Father and son shaking hands

The validation from this group has meant the difference between insanity and sanity. I know I'm not enough to cover all my sons behavior but I don't have to.

I Felt Incredibly Isolated and Intolerant Of My Son's Behaviors

Before I felt incredible isolated and intolerant of my sons behaviors. I felt like I wasn't enough and like something was wrong with me as a mother.

After joining... I know I'm not crazy. The validation from this group has meant the difference between insanity and sanity. I know I'm not enough to cover all my sons behavior but I don't have to.

Nothing is wrong with him and it's not my fault. I'm not alone and there are other people who get me within seconds, they don't minimize my struggles or say all the crappy hurtful things like: "He'll grow out of it, it's just a phase, all kids do that, he seems fine", etc.

I and my son are accepted, cared for and supported. It's changed my world. I am forever grateful!

Young woman thinking

I have found a community that truly understands and can offer real solutions.

I Finally Understood What Life Is Like For Her

I came across "The Sensory Funnel" on social media. I watched the video and was brought to tears because I have a little child without a voice, and it was like Danny gave her a voice.

And finally I understood, as much as I could without actually experiencing it, what life is like for her. It changed everything.

I was so happy that I found someone who was there to help. I immediately shared AE with everyone in our lives, and I watched the videos, read the blogs. My mother finally understood my child too, which was also life changing.

I joined this amazing group and I have found support, advice, humor, and I no longer feel alone. I like that there is access to both other parents like me as well as Aspies. I have found a community that truly understands and can offer real solutions.

My life is less stressful. I know it has helped my child. I cannot say enough positive things. The most important being that my daughter's life has improved.

I'm pretty new but have already benefited from support and suggestions. Also knowing we aren't in this alone has helped.

Hearing From Someone Who Has Lived It Is A Huge Benefit

I'm pretty new but have already benefited from support and suggestions. Also knowing we aren't in this alone has helped. Hearing information from someone who has lived this already huge benefit.

I have enjoyed the webinars and the information is very helpful. I feel like I have a whole website going to the IEP meeting with us tomorrow.

The biggest mistake anyone could make for themselves and their loved one is to not attend your seminar. Thank you for all your massive efforts to bring this to us. You are an incredible team!

I Was Truly Left Speechless And Hopeful

I am a physician and have practiced for 16 years, at some of the most prestigious institutions in the country. I have attended countless seminars and conferences watching presentations of the most innovative advancements in my field. I have never been impacted by any experience as much as I was by Asperger Experts seminar.

My wife and I have tirelessly researched Autism in an effort to help our son. We've listened to multiple speakers over the years, with impressively advanced degrees and accolades. They were able to, without even knowing our son, describe his issues with remarkable accuracy. However, that was where it ended. There were no real suggestions, solutions, or answers, especially for teenagers. Asperger Experts has those suggestions, solutions, and even some answers. This course should be mandatory for all families touched by Autism. The course, however, goes far beyond Autism. You are all LIFE Experts.

Your mere example of the adversity you have all overcome in a world convinced that success would be impossible is above inspiring. In a system that tells parents to hope for the least and expect the worst.

The biggest mistake anyone could make for themselves and their loved one is to not attend your seminar. Thank you for all your massive efforts to bring this to us. You are an incredible team!

I was truly left speechless and hopeful.

With greatest thanks and sincerity,

Vincent
